# Router

The Router is the user-facing entry point for all swaps. It supports 02 modes:

* Exact output: trader specifies how much they want to receive; Router works backwards to quote the required input.
* Exact input: trader specifies how much they want to send; Router works forwards to compute the output.

In both cases the Router enforces the imbalance cap automatically: if a trade would breach gamma, it is reduced to the maximum allowable size and the interface is notified.
